Was doing research on "Heald" and came across your blog. I'm glad someone else with "our name" is interested in our past.Carolyn Heald Miyasakinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2158483717400443845.post-63907891310772620152009-07-02T06:26:52.202-04:002009-07-02T06:26:52.202-04:00Thanks very much, Rebecca! Thanks very much, Rebecca!David Healdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03155225872953006852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2158483717400443845.post-67457973566785468302009-07-01T13:32:46.832-04:002009-07-01T13:32:46.832-04:00I enjoyed reading through your series on Captain B...I enjoyed reading through your series on Captain Billings. Stories like these are what makes the Civil War real to me. They remind me that real people really fought and died. They're not just statistics.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17996173704045178865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2158483717400443845.post-23542530954502681092009-07-01T06:53:44.212-04:002009-07-01T06:53:44.212-04:00Thank you. If suffering is given to us to point us in the right direction, then passing over that suffering in the report of any war is a diservice to succeeding generations. Then again, how much can we listen to?

On another level, of course, the series honors the memory of Charles AND Ellen. Strange to be hearing about wives collecting the dead and wounded on a battlefield...

Thanks again. Great stuff.Geoffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00622804198121789998noreply@blogger.com
